Synopsis

Fallen Angels follows two upper-class wives. As their husbands are away for the day, they toast to their pre-marital casual relationships. They were both involved with the same man who is en route from France to visit. Old rivalries and past scandals come to the surface in this intoxicating play from one of theater’s comedy icons.

Cast and Creative Team

Fallen Angels stars Kelli O’Hara and Rose Byrne. Over the years, Kelli O’Hara has made a name for herself as one of Broadway’s greatest leading ladies. She has not only won a prestigious Tony Award, but bagged nominations at the Emmy’s, SAG, and Grammy’s. So far, Kelli O’Hara has starred in twelve Broadway shows and scored a whopping eight Tony Award nominations. In 2015, she took home a Tony Award for Best Leading Actress in a Musical, as well as Grammy, Drama League and Outer Critics nominations for playing Anna Leonowens in The King and I. The star’s other Broadway credits include Kiss Me Kate, The Bridges of Madison County, Nice Work if You Can Get It, South Pacific, The Pajama Game, The Light in the Piazza, Sweet Smell of Success, Follies, Dracula, and Jekyll & Hyde. What’s more, Kelli O’Hara got an Emmy Award nomination for playing Katie Bonner in Topic’s smash hit web series, The Accidental Wolf. She also can be seen on HBO’s The Gilded Age, which has been nominated for a SAG award for Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Drama Series for the show-stopping Season 2.

Meanwhile, Rose Byrne is an Emmy and Golden Globe nominated actress who hails from Sydney, Australia. Known and loved around the world for starring in Damages alongside Glenn Close, she scored two Golden Globe nominations and one Emmy nomination for her role. Rose Byrne’s other tv credits include Physical and Platonic for Apple TV+. Recently, she starred in Mary Bronstein’s If I Had Legs I’d Kick You alongside Conan O’Brien and A$AP Rocky for A24. The movie premiered at the 2025 Sundance Film Festival and the 2025 Berlin International Film Festival where Rose Byrne took home the Silver Bear for Best Leading Performance. And that’s not all, she is also set to star in Stephanie Laing’s highly anticipated comedy-drama TOW alongside Dominic Sessa, Ariana DeBose, Octavia Spencer, Demi Lovato and Simon Rex. Her movie credits include Bridesmaids, Neighbors, Get Him to the Greek, Marie Antionette, A Place Beyond the Pines, X-Men First Class and Ezra. Her theater credits include Medea, You Can’t Take it With You (Broadway debut), Sydney Theatre Company’s Speed-the-Plow, La Dispute and Three Sisters.

The creative team is led by playwright Noël Coward and director Scott Ellis. Noël Coward hailed from Teddington, Middlesex, in England. He debuted on stage as Prince Mussel in The Goldfish at just 12 years old. This led to several child actor appearances over the next few years. Notoriously, Noël Coward played the character of Slightly in Peter Pan. Critic Kenneth Tynan said, “Forty years ago he was Slightly in Peter Pan and you might say that he has been wholly in Peter Pan ever since.” His 1924 controversial play The Vortex was his breakthrough. A string of successful plays followed including Hay Fever (1925), Fallen Angels (1925), and Easy Virtue (1926).

Meanwhile, Director Scott Ellis is the Interim Artistic Director of Roundabout Theatre Company. His Broadway credits include: Take Me Out (2022 Tony Award for Best Revival of a Play); Tootsie (2019 Tony Award nomination), Kiss Me, Kate; She Loves Me (2016 Tony Award nomination); On the Twentieth Century; You Can’t Take It With You (Tony nomination); The Elephant Man; The Mystery of Edwin Drood (Tony nomination); Harvey; Curtains (Tony nomination); The Little Dog Laughed (Drama League Award nomination); Twelve Angry Men (Tony nomination); The Man Who Had All the Luck; The Rainmaker; 1776 (Drama Desk Award and Tony nominations); Picnic (Outer Critics Circle Award nomination); Company; A Month in the Country; and Steel Pier (Tony nomination). Moreover, Scott Ellis’ Off-Broadway credits include Dada Woof Papa Hot; The Unavoidable Disappearance of Tom Durnin; Gruesome Playground Injuries; Streamers; Good Boys and True; Entertaining Mr. Sloane; Flora, the Red Menace (Drama Desk nomination); And the World Goes ’Round (Drama Desk and Outer Critics Circle Awards), and The Waverly Gallery. His television credits include: Julia, The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, The Closer, Weeds (executive producer), 30 Rock, (Emmy Award nomination for Best Director), and Modern Family.

Additional cast and creatives will be announced at a later date.
